Christophe Averlan has written six plays for theater including Des roses rouges et des monsters in 1997, which received funding from the DMDTS and Happy Birthday Daddy in 2007, supported by the Foundation Beaumarchais and the SACD, directed by Patrice Kerbrat and presented at XX in 2007 and Avignon in 2008. He has directed around 20 short films, some of which have been selected for various festivals, and has four more and a feature film currently in production. Christophe Averlans next play for a cast of ten should be completed for the 2010-2011 season. Since 2007, he has run the Filming the Intimacy of the Character workshop with Nathalie Chron in which he works with the actors intimacy to find that innocent space where a character can flourish.
