Core scene study work and specialist workshops create our renowned one-year, summer, and teen conservatories.  These programs are designed to strengthen the actor’s instrument, inspire the imagination, and prepare the actor for a professional career.

Teen

A two-week introduction for young actors.


August 4 to August 15, 2008


Monday - Friday


9:30am - 4:00pm




Our Teen Conservatory represents a rare opportunity for the disciplined, talented teenage actor to develop his or her skills in a rigorous program taught by the internationally esteemed faculty at Michael Howard Studios.  Daily classes include scene study, monologues, business of acting, movement, voice, acting for film and camera, and improvisational comedy.  On the last day of the Teen Conservatory, the morning will be spent doing a warm up and final dress rehearsal.  Students will present scenes from their course of study for family, friends, classmates, and instructors.  The faculty of the Teen Conservatory consists of teaching artists from Michael Howard Studios, all of whom have extensive experience teaching the fundamentals of acting to teenagers.  They are also professional actors who have extensive artistic experience working in New York City.  It is the goal of the Teen Conservatory build confidence and self-esteem while providing an intense, artistically fulfilling experience.
