Last week, three of our Michael Howard Studios’ Master Teachers received a stellar mention  in Backstage: The Actors Resource, in an Article entitled “The Essentials”, a listing of the most vital reads for all actors.

Of the ten New York Actor recommendations (care of the beloved Drama Book Shop), were "The Lucid Body" by Fay Simpson, at #5, "Make Your Voice Heard" by Chuck Jones (taught at Michael Howard Studios by Jones’ protégé, David Wells), at #8, and "Second Circle" by Patsy Rodenburg, at #9.

Fay Simpson’s “The Lucid Body” workshop is currently underway at MHS, and David Wells has just announced dates for his Spring 2010 Advanced Vocal Production. Patsy is coming back in March 2010 and will be teaching the principals of her “Second Circle” in her Level 2 Workshop. For more information about any and all of these classes please visit us here.

Founded in 1953 by actor and director Michael Howard, a protege of both Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse and Lee Strasberg at the Actor’s Studio, it is the longest running, privately-owned acting Studio in New York.  Michael established his Studio grounded in the dramatic innovations of Konstantin Stanislavski.  The Studio has evolved to incorporate many schools of thought and techniques from around the world.  Its core belief is to help actors develop a technique - a method which is truly individual.
