  1. New Years News from Michael Howard Studios

January 7, 2010

Hello students and friends of Michael Howard Studios,

I wanted to thank each of you for enabling Michael Howard Studios to enjoy a highly successful 2009. In a year filled with uncertainty and economic stress, we have managed to continue to raise the studios to new heights of excellence and it is due to the commitment of all of you; the actors of MHS. For that we all say thank you.

Our annual holiday party was a fabulous night of celebration, reunions, and outreach. To cap off such a successful year, owner Gabrielle Berberich and the studio made two separate donations to Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS. The first donation for $10,000 was on behalf of all MHS students past and present. The second donation for $10,000 was on behalf of Michael and Betty Howard. In conjunction with the Broadway production of "A Steady Rain", the donations made by Gabrielle and the studio broke all donation records, raising $4,630,695 for the cause. If you would like to make a personal donation, it is certainly not too late and you can do so by visiting

2010 will be the 56th season of Michael Howard Studios and it promises to be a great one. One highlight will be the release of "Shakespeare In The Present"; a joint venture between Gabrielle Berberich and Patsy Rodenburg. "Shakespeare..." will be a culmination of Patsy's revolutionary voice work, and much of it was filmed at Michael Howard Studios with 30 of our actors.

2010 will also mark the first Michael and Betty Howard Scholarship for Artistic Excellence to be bestowed upon one actor for our acclaimed Two-Year Conservatory. We will be releasing more details in January regarding this unique opportunity.

In closing, from the cast and crew of Michael Howard Studios, may you enjoy an artistically fulfilling 2010. We hope you will continue to update us on your successes and know that the doors at MHS are open to you at any time for your artistic needs. Whether it is a workshop, scene study class, or conservatory, we hope you will continue to take advantage of the studios and our diverse family of master teachers.

Warmest Regards,

Justin Daniel
